Sea Owl Leaves Her Nest

The magnificent two-toned (emerald green and oyster white) Sea Owl left her nest last week for the first time and ventured out into the warm dutch sun. Sea Owl measures 62m (203ft) in length and is the newest edition to the ever growing fleet from Feadship. Her official launching is not scheduled until July but her early venture into the sun gave onlookers a chance to catch a glimpse of her modern but classic exterior lines designed by Andrew Winch. She also has one of the most customised interiors ever seen on a Feadship, so we are all in for a suprise when more details of her interior come to light.

As you may recognize by her name "Sea Owl" and her exterior colors as she has been built for an experienced owner who has had many megayachts by the same name and color scheme in the past. Captain John Watson has spent the last year at the yard and describes the build at Feadship as "an enlightening and extraordinarily professional experience. There is a wonderful family atmosphere and it’s been fabulous to work in a yard with craftsmen who have applied their skills to Feadship for decades. More importantly, perhaps, I believe that the owners have also very much enjoyed the design and construction process. It takes very special skills to transform such a vision into a solid structure, and Feadship have succeeded in doing so with flying colours".

Very few details have been released about the interior but what we can say is that she contains a detailed selection of hand carved pieces, sculptures, petrified woods items and different marbles.

As well as been very secretive the owners are very family orientated as they have incorporated two dedicated children's cabins as well as the owners state room and three guest cabins. The children will always be kept occupied on board with a full range of games and toys.
